Kaie Laanevali | ESTONIA

I am Kaie and I come from a small island of Muhu in Estonia. I grew up in a family of fishermen, hunters and farmers. Sustainable food production and rural development have always been close to my heart. I hold a master’s degree in economics and for the most part, I have been involved in the development and consulting of agricultural cooperatives. I have experience working in the Ministry of Rural Affairs in initiating and managing projects and related regulations to strengthen the farmer’s position in the supply chain, representing farmer’s interests in the Estonian Chamber of Agriculture and Commerce and establishing an agricultural cooperative in Kenya. Today my position as an innovation broker in the Centre of Estonian Rural Research and Knowledge allows me to improve the connections between researchers and farmers, so that innovation reaches practice and meets farmer’s expectations and needs.

For me the COCOREADO ambassador’s community is an international network of active people, who share a vision for a more sustainable world. It is a perfect platform for bottom-up multi-actor co-creation to support the development and implementation of innovative approaches and targeted solutions for the green transition.
