Marliese Sitter | GERMANY

As an agricultural scientist and former farm manager of a landscape conservation farm with sheep farming and regional marketing in Germany, I have now moved into politics. I am working at the Agriculture Committee in the European Parliament in Brussels. I am passionate about issues such as sustainable agriculture and a transparent and ecologically responsible food system. Consumers should be allowed to know more about where their food comes from and how it is produced. Farmers must be adequately paid for their valuable work; the massive giving up of family farms needs to stop! Therefore, it is important for me to be part of initiatives like COCOREADO, which are supporting initiatives to help rebalance the food supply chain and rebuild the connection between farmers and consumers.
