Is there a future for agriculture in Europe and how should this future look like? From June 8th to June 11th, 2022 is taking place the JCI European Conference in Bruges and this year the motto is “Food For Generations“.
During these days, our coordinator Tessa Avermaete, from KU Leuven, will participate in a debate, where participants with a profound knowledge on agriculture and his challenges will try to answer this question.
The debate will focus on actual themes and how they impact and define the future agriculture. How will changes in environment (like climate change) and increased awareness for the environment (like nitrogen pollution) impact the on agriculture in Europe? How can we make sure that there is enough food for everybody which has become even more urgent with the war in Ukraine? Is the Farm to Fork strategy of the EU still be realistic in this changing environment.
All these questions will be discussed in following participants: Tessa Avermaete (Project manager at SFERE (KU Leuven)), Joris Relaes (Administrateur Generaal Instituut voor Landbouw Visserij en Voedingsonderzoek ILVO) and Joost Dessein (Associate Professor Ghent University)
Timing: Thursday June 9th 2022 – 10:45 – 12:15
