In November 2021, the COCOREADO WP4 team focusing on advancing sustainable public procurement met in Copenhagen to align and discuss tasks. Task leaders presented their work with existing examples of tender requirements for sustainable procurement, inclusion of sustainability criteria within legal frameworks for public procurement, options for developing sustainability standards and policy recommendations for public procurement, and how to integrate the different elements in the development of a decision-support system for use in the procurement process. The WP4 team meeting resulted in inspiring and knowledge-enhancing discussions across tasks on how we can make sustainability a deciding point in public procurement tenders within the current legal frameworks, and how a sustainability scoring system could function within these constrains. The options for a decision-support system were also thoroughly discussed considering all aspects of the tool, from who the main users should be to which parts of the process should be supported and how.
